Synopsis:
What defines an athlete?
Is it the love and support of thousands, a championship ring, or a multi-million dollar contract? Think again!

Athlete is a documentary that examines the growing popularity of endurance sports and profiles four everyday individuals – a cancer survivor (Jenny), a blind senior citizen (Artie) and twin sisters (Kelly and Carrie) – who complete in marathons and triathlons and are redefining what it means to be an ‘athlete’.

Athlete is David Lam’s directorial debut. He is an award winning graphic designer and photographer based in New York City. The idea for the film came from his own experience of competing in three marathons in New York, London and Chicago between 2004 and 2005.

It is also worth noting that the documentary style film features music by Grammy- nominated an dplatinum selling artist Moby!
